Torpedo Reload II | Signal Path Overview

The block diagram published inside Reload II’s manual provides a complete overview of the signal path within Reload II’s architecture.

The following provides a comprehensive breakdown of the signal flow for both Amp and Line Level sources within our latest Reactive Load solution.

Using an Amp With Reload II

The amp’s speaker output is connected to the AMP IN jack socket, and in turn to Reload II’s internal Load Box.
A Line Level signal is derived from the output of the Load Box feeding sequentially:

  • The AMP IN level control
  • One or both of Reload II’s channels (A/B) via the CHANNEL SELECTOR switches located on the front-face of the unit.
  • The DEPTH and PRESENCE tone shaping tools
  • The effects loop
  • The DUAL MONO / LINK A/B switch

From there the signal will simultaneously feed:

  • The LINE OUT channel outputs with a dedicated LINE OUT level control per channel located on the front-face of the unit.
  • The internal power amp that in turn outputs a speaker level signal via the respective Channel’s CAB OUT outputs.
    1. Please note: The MOJO tone-shaping control is located before the power amp’s input.

In addition, it is prudent to bear in mind the following considerations:

  • Any effect connected to your amp’s input or effects loop feeds Reload II’s loadbox, and the subsequent line level feed that is passed through Reload II’s internal architecture.
  • When using Reload II’s FX Loop, set the LOOP LEVEL switch to +4dBu option for FX devices that have line level input or the -10dBV option for guitar level devices (i.e. pedal format delays).

Using a Line-Level Source with Reload II

In this configuration, the source’s Line output is connected to one or both (for stereo operation) LINE IN inputs.

  • Please note: There is no dedicated input level control for the LINE IN inputs; therefore, the input level feeding Reload II’s internal architecture should be set at the source.

The source’s Line Level will sequentially feed:

  • If using a modelling processor with an effects loop, any effect connected to said effects loop feeds Reload II’s internal architecture.
  • When using Reload II’s FX Loop, set the LOOP LEVEL switch to +4dBu option for FX devices that have line level input or the -10dBV option for guitar level devices (i.e. pedal format delays).
