Preset Compatibility Between Captor X and Captor X +

Preset Compatibility Between Captor X and Captor X +

Presets created on Captor X are compatible with Captor X + and can be loaded and used without issue via the Preset Manager tab in the Desktop Variant of Torpedo Remote. However, presets created on Captor X + are not backwards-compatible with Captor X.

Why this works one way only?

Captor X + is built on a new firmware platform with an expanded feature set, including the True Stereo DynIR™ Engine, Virtual Load Shaper, and enhanced routing modes. Presets created on Captor X + may reference parameters and functions that do not exist on Captor X.

What this means for users.

  • Existing Captor X users can migrate their presets to Captor X +
  • Presets created on Captor X + must remain on Captor X + as there is no backwards compatibility with the original Captor X
  • For managing presets, always ensure you use the Preset Manager found within the Desktop Variant of Torpedo Remote.
