Unable to save GENOME presets under macOS

GENOME - Issue with presets when using GENOME in your DAW (macOS-Specific)

The following article is specific to macOS users only.

If you are using GENOME as a plugin in your DAW and encounter issues with RIG presets, such as:

  • Loading a RIG preset that works in GENOME standalone, but no components are loaded (only the preset name appears in the RIG slot).

  • Creating a RIG from scratch, but being unable to save it in GENOME.

The cause is that your DAW does not have the necessary permissions to write to certain folders. To fix this, follow these steps:

Step 1: Close your DAW.

Step 2: Open the Apple menu in the macOS top menu  bar and select System Settings.

Step 3: Navigate to Privacy & Security.

Step 4: Go to Files and Folders, then select your DAW.

Step 5: Enable access to the Documents folder (see example screenshots below).

Example for Logic Pro

Example for Reaper

Step 6: Reopen your DAW and try saving or loading a preset again. With the correct permissions enabled, your DAW will be able to save new RIG presets and load those created in the GENOME standalone application.
