How to use GENOME with MIDI in Logic Pro X
How to use GENOME with MIDI in Logic Pro X
- Launch Logic Pro and instantiate a new "Software Instrument" track. From the AU MIDI-controlled Effects section, select GENOME as the instrument for the track
- Open GENOME’s interface and configure a sidechain input to receive audio. Double-check that your instrument is properly connected to the input channel on your audio interface
- To capture the audio signal, set up an audio track and route its output to a Bus. Next, go back to your plugin’s sidechain settings and choose that Bus as the input source. This allows the plugin to process the signal coming from your audio track
- Use the MIDI Learn feature in the plugin interface to assign and map MIDI controls in accordance with your preferred desired workflow
How to use GENOME with MIDI in Garageband
Garageband does not support MIDI for MIDI-Controlled Effects.
Impact for other DAWs supporting Audio Units
GENOME will work properly with other DAWs supporting the AU plugin format. However, GENOME will appear twice in the AU folder (as “GENOME” and “GENOME (No MIDI)”). In this situation, we encourage users to work with the “GENOME” variant as there are no MIDI compatibility issues on any other mainstream Digital Audio Workstations besides Garageband and Logic Pro.
