How to Configure ReVolt Bass and OPUS

In the following Help Desk Article, we discuss the optimal means of connecting ReVolt Bass and OPUS for the ultimate Fly-Rig.

MIDI Connectivity

In terms of MIDI connectivity, simply connect a 3.5mm (1/8-inch) TRS jack to 3.5mm (1/8-inch) TRS jack cable between the MIDI Out of ReVolt Bass and the MIDI In of OPUS. When pressing one of ReVolt Bass’s channel footswitches, the device will send a Program Change (PC) MIDI Message to OPUS. Preset changes in OPUS are triggered via these PC MIDI messages. Audio Connectivity & Signal Flow Guidelines

In terms of optimal audio connections between OPUS and ReVolt Bass, place OPUS in the FX loop of ReVolt.
For any spatial FX (including Reverb and Delay) please place these after OPUS. By configuring your connectivity in this manner, you ensure that your spatial FX affect your total signal without colouration of the FX-processed signal by OPUS’ TSM Poweramp emulation and Post FX suite.
For integration of Drive, Fuzz and Distortion pedals, we recommend placing these between your instrument and the instrument input of ReVolt.
You can also place effects (like modulation FX) in-between ReVolt’s effects loop SEND and OPUS’ input, just like you would do in a traditional amplifier rig with an effects loop.
Finally, connect the last pedal's output to ReVolt's effects loop RETURN to close the loop, and connect the XLR DI Output of ReVolt to a PA, mixer or interface to hear your end-to-end signal.
