GENOME v1.5 Standalone Technology Preview

GENOME v1.5 Standalone Technology Preview

Among the new features in GENOME v1.5, we have added a technology preview of the Standalone Application. Now, you can use GENOME with your computer without instantiating the software in your DAW. This Standalone Application Technology Preview is available in the regular GENOME installer package accessible on our downloads page here. Upon completion of GENOME v1.5’s installation on your computer, you will find the following new icon on your desktop (PC) or the Applications Folder (Mac); click this icon to launch the standalone version of GENOME.

Once GENOME is opened (and you are logged in to your Two notes account), the following steps should be completed to set up the software:

  • For macOS users Your OS will ask you to give access to the microphone through the following window. Click on Allow (otherwise signal coming from your audio interface's input will not be detected in the next steps)

  • Configure the Standalone Application’s audio settings in the software. by clicking on the AUDIO SETTINGS MENU

  • In the AUDIO DEVICE type (only available under Windows computers), reveal the drop-down menu. Select ASIO in the options .
  • If you have multiple audio interfaces, choose the one you will use with GENOME standalone (in this example, it is a MOTU Interface)

  • Select the audio interface’s input where your instrument is connected (input 1 in this example) in the Active Inputs section.
  • Select the relevant outputs on your audio interface to hear your instrument in your monitors/headphones in the section Active Outputs
  • Select your Audio Buffer Size to set the latency when you play. The lower the value, the smaller the latency.

At the moment, GENOME’s standalone is a preview - there is no MIDI mapping available in the software. There might also be issues or bugs we have not come across yet.

If you spot any issues, bugs, or odd behavior, please submit a ticket on the Two notes Helpdesk so we can improve this new feature in the future.
