Doing a Firmware Installation in Bootloader Mode for Torpedo Captor X

There may be a time when you'll need to perform a firmware installation using what is called Bootloader mode. Some Bluetooth connection issues and timeout issues can be resolved with a full reinstallation of the unit's firmware through the Bootloader mode.

Your Torpedo Captor X is placed in a state that makes Torpedo Remote do the firmware installation as soon as the unit is connected via USB to your computer.

To perform a firmware installation, your unit needs to be registered to your Two notes account, and the installation can only be carried out with Torpedo Remote installed on a computer via USB. It is not possible to do a firmware update/installation with the mobile app.

Follow the steps below to complete the procedure:

  • Turn off your unit by unplugging the power supply
  • With a paper clip, press the small button located between the OUT LEVEL and VOICING knob
  • Plug the power supply back in to turn the unit on again (while keeping the button pressed). Once the unit is powered on you can remove the paper clip
  • Open Torpedo Remote on your computer and follow the prompt to update your unit
