Why Captor X Cannot Be Updated to Captor X +

Captor X + | Why Captor X Cannot Be Updated to Captor X +

Captor X and Captor X + are separate products built on different firmware platforms. Captor X is feature complete by design and remains fully supported on its established firmware. Captor X + is built on a new firmware architecture that required a full platform overhaul in order to support its expanded feature set, including True Stereo DynIR™, the Virtual Load Shaper, and enhanced routing modes.

Because of the scope of these changes, parts of the Captor X + firmware platform are not accessible through a practical firmware update. As a result, Captor X + will not be delivered as an update to existing Captor X units.

What this means for users:
  1. Captor X remains fully supported and operates exactly as designed
  2. Captor X + delivers its expanded capabilities through a dedicated firmware platform
  3. There is no upgrade path from Captor X to Captor X + via a firmware update
  4. Both products continue to be supported independently within the Two notes product range.
